Everyone is always talking about NASCAR race teams not having time to do anything in their lives but work and race. Well that's kind of true - they also find time to play sports. Since 1998 NASCAR race team employees have met on the softball diamond every Tuesday night, and in recent years Wednesday as well,  to compete for bragging rights and of course a trophy.

The Totally Racin' Softball League was founded in 1998 with NASCAR Winston Cup, Busch, and Craftsman Truck race teams in the Mooresville & Charlotte, NC area.

League Founder and Coordinator Bob Hubner, came up with the idea to form a league with race team employees after watching his brother Rick play for the company he works for in Orlando, Florida. While Bob was in Florida visiting his brother he attended one of Rick's softball games. Each player was an employee of the company he or she was playing for, Bob said to himself Hmm.... with all of his contacts and working and being involved within the racing industry why couldn't he have his own league. When Bob returned back to Mooresville, NC he started making some phone calls and asking around to all of the race teams and before you know it he had one of the most unique softball leagues in the country.

It's a lot of fun, I enjoy watching everybody getting along and having a great time doing something together besides working says Hubner. It gives the guys back at the shops who don't go to the races each week a chance to get out and meet other people from other teams. This league is very competitive there have been some very exciting games over the years, not bad for just throwing together a bunch of racers. If your race team wins a race on Sunday that doesn't mean you will win your softball game on Tuesday night.

Currently the games are being played at Walter Safrit Park in Kannapolis, NC
