Web Browser Questions

Why don't some Web Pages work ?
There are many different versions of Web Browsers. They don't all operate the same or have the same features. This site uses some unique Browser features, but attempts to be compatible with recent versions of  Netscape and Microsoft Internet Explorer. In some cases there are multiple ways to get to the same page.  One link may require that your browser support the ONCLICK command, while another may use the standard link that all browsers support.  So if something does not work look for an alternate path to the same place.

Why when I click on a link, or button, nothing happens ?
The descriptions are displayed in a separate window. Your Web Browser does not support the javascript focus() command so that when you select a job from the list this page remains in front rather than the description page. You can't run your Web Browser full screen.  You need to position the second window such that you can see at least part of it so you can click on it to bring it to the foreground.

Another possible reason is that you are using pop-up blocker software. You need to disable blocking or configure the software to allow our pop-ups.

Some of our links and buttons use JavaScript. If your browser does not not support JavaScript, or has it disabled, these links and buttons will not work.

Why do some pages look strange ?
Even though we attempt to limit the glitter and simply try to provide a functional and easy to use site, we do want to attract a visitors attention.  We try to make this usable from any Web Browser, but some of them ignore, or process differently, the screen formatting commands (for example style sheets) that we use. Another problem area is fonts. A user's browser preferences and available fonts can produce varying results.   Since we can't test all browsers, we use the feedback from visitors to make adjustments when it will be beneficial..  We can't make things visually pleasing to all but we do attempt to resolve functional problems.

In order to make it easier to maintain our web pages we use Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) and Inline Frames. Some browsers do not support CSS, or their implementation may not support the latest CSS version. Older version browsers may not support Inline Frames.
